Caricature by friend Joaquin Aldeguer

I'm an artist and arts organizer-educator in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. I exhibit locally and internationally.

I approach art-making primarily as a daily drawing practice.  Observational study mixed with a  more-or-less disciplined imagination keep me close to the root of my images.

I think of my pictures as a way to illustrate sequential problem-solving that I would aspire to in my everyday thinking life. The materiality of art helps me to remember and feel the junctures in each thought that I'd like to preserve and refine as a tool.

I've been an art teacher since I began studying composition, in my mid-teens. I see the axis between making and teaching to be the high wire act for any of my ambition.
